Nigerian artiste and songwriter Okafor Uchenna Victor, known by his stage name as Mr Real called out his colleagues, D’banj and Mr Eazi as he exressed grievances over unpaid royalties by the duo.
The singer lamented during a podcast called Terms and Condition that he was never paid his royalties when he worked with D’banj and Mr Eazi respectively on their hit songs, Issa Banga and Overload .
“I have a song with D’banj. I was the one that brought my producer, Cracker and Slimcase, on board, and we made that song ‘Issa Banger. The song blew.” Real explained.
“The song is being used in movies, even American movies, and I haven’t received any royalty,” he added.
He also pointed out that no contract was signed during the recording of Overload with Eazi, and he was never paid for the record. While lamenting, Real added that when Eazi had asked for his vocals for a feature with Legendary Beatz and he obliged, he had expected something in return.
“There is this saying that when you do a favour, you don’t expect them to do something in return. Omo, me I dey expect o. When I do you a favour, I expect you to render same to me.
“I’m not calling you out for anything but you should know you’re supposed to do this. I know if I message you, you won’t answer me. If I call D’banj, he no dey pick my call. Mr Eazi no dey pick my call.”
